Resources for Science Education

Below are a list of useful Science Education websites. As Dan discovers more he will add more.

OSF

Open Science Framework. This can be found at the following URL: osf.io. This site offers an excellent chance for researchers to share their computerised tasks.

The Whole Brain Atlas. This can be found at the following URL: http://www.med.harvard.edu/aanlib/home.html. This site has been created by Harvard Medical School as a tool to teach the ‘top 100’ brain structures. Users can highlight structures in the brain whilst looking through MRI and PET scan images.

OneZoom

OneZoom. This can be found at the following URL: https://www.onezoom.org/. This site is an excellent interactive way to explore the evolutionary ‘tree of life’. Users can follow the evolution of different species through this tool and even sponsor a leaf to donate to the charity and provide easy access to scientific knowledge about biodiversity and evolution.

novalabs

NOVALABS by PBS. This can be found at the following URL: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/labs/. This site provides an excellent interactive tool for exploring the sciences. There are ‘labs’ to explore … Polar science, Evolutionary science, Cybersecurity, RNA science, the Cloud, Energy, and the Sun.

Allen Brain Atlas. This can be found at the following URL: https://portal.brain-map.org/. This site provides an excellent interactive tool for exploring a variety of different areas within neuroscience.
